Meet Jesus Serrano!

Jesus joined InterSolutions in 2021 as a Regional Operations Manager, ready to take on new challenges and opportunities. His hard work and knowledge in his role led to his promotion to Regional Director of Operations in May of this year.

We sat down with Jesus to get to know him a bit better, and this is what he had to say:

Are there any skills that you learned from your first-ever job that carried over to your current role?

The skills I learned during my very first job at the age of 13 have proven to be invaluable assets in my current role. At that young age, I was introduced to the fundamentals of customer service, effective communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and time management. These skills have not only stayed with me but have also evolved and continue to shape my approach to work.

Customer Service: My early exposure to customer service laid the foundation for understanding the importance of meeting clients’ needs and delivering excellent service. This skill has remained central in my professional journey, as I strive to exceed expectations and build lasting relationships with customers.

Communication: Learning how to effectively communicate with colleagues, supervisors, and customers at a young age has been crucial. It has allowed me to express ideas, listen actively, and collaborate seamlessly in my current role, contributing to a harmonious and productive work environment.

Problem Solving: The problem-solving skills I developed during my first job have been refined over the years. I now approach challenges methodically, seeking innovative solutions and identifying opportunities for improvement within the organization.

Teamwork: From my early experiences of working as part of a team, I’ve learned the value of cooperation, trust, and shared goals. These principles have continued to guide me in my current position, where I understand the significance of working collaboratively to achieve common objectives.

Time Management: Time management was a critical skill I honed during my first job, and it remains a linchpin of my success today. I’m able to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain high productivity, ensuring that I make the most of each workday.

In essence, the skills I cultivated during my teenage years continue to be instrumental in my professional growth and contribute to my effectiveness in my current role. They serve as a testament to the enduring value of early learning and the foundation upon which I’ve built a successful career.

Who are your role models?

Throughout my life, I’ve been fortunate to be surrounded by a diverse group of individuals, each of whom has imparted unique values that have profoundly influenced my personal and professional development. These individuals include my mother, Jess, Jamie, my peers, and Freddy.

My mom: The most significant source of inspiration in my life has always been my mother. She instilled in me the values of love, compassion, and resilience. Her unwavering support and dedication have been a guiding light, teaching me the importance of kindness, empathy, and the strength to overcome any obstacle.

Jess: From Jess, I learned the value of perseverance and tenacity. Their relentless pursuit of their goals, no matter the challenges they faced, showed me the power of determination and the belief that anything is possible with hard work and a steadfast spirit.

Jamie: Jamie has been a beacon of honesty and integrity. Their commitment to truth and ethical principles has encouraged me to always act with integrity, even in the face of adversity. I’ve come to understand that honesty is a cornerstone of trust and reputation.

Peers: My peers have been an integral part of my life, teaching me the significance of teamwork and collaboration. Working alongside them, I’ve realized the power of collective effort, cooperation, and shared goals in both personal and professional settings.

Freddy: Freddy’s influence has emphasized the importance of innovation and adaptability. They’ve shown me that the ability to embrace change, think creatively, and be open to new ideas is essential for personal growth and professional success.

The values I’ve learned from these individuals have become the compass guiding me through life. Their collective wisdom has not only shaped my character but has also had a profound impact on my career, as I strive to uphold these principles in all that I do.

If you walked into a room with everyone you’ve ever met in it, who would you look for first? Why?

In life’s journey, if I were to look for someone first, it would undoubtedly be my mom. She has been my constant companion, confidante, and best friend throughout my entire life. Her unwavering presence has shaped me in more ways than I can express.

My mom has taught me the enduring value of hard work. Her tireless dedication to her family and her own pursuits has been a living example of diligence and perseverance. Through her, I’ve learned that success is not merely a product of talent but the result of relentless effort and determination.

Beyond instilling a strong work ethic in me, my mom has imparted invaluable values that have become the foundation of my character. If you were to visit any place in the world, where would you go and why?

I’d love to visit, and the list changes depending on the moment and time. But right now, if I were to pick a destination, it would be Saudi Arabia.

Why Saudi Arabia, you ask? It’s not just for the breathtaking landscapes or rich history, although those are undoubtedly enticing. My heart’s desire is to take my son to Saudi Arabia, a place that holds a dream close to his heart.

You see, my son is a huge Cristiano Ronaldo fan. He’s watched countless matches, followed his career with unwavering enthusiasm, and has a poster of Ronaldo hanging proudly on his bedroom wall. It’s more than admiration; it’s a genuine passion.

And the dream that resides in my son’s heart is to watch Cristiano Ronaldo play in Saudi Arabia. To see his idol, the legend, the icon, in action on the field would be a dream come true for him. The spark in his eyes when he talks about Ronaldo, the jerseys he proudly wears—it’s all a testament to his deep admiration.

So, the current destination on my mind is Saudi Arabia, not just for its splendid landscapes and culture but to make my son’s dream come true. I can envision the unforgettable moment when we sit together in a stadium, watching Ronaldo’s mesmerizing skills on the field, sharing in the excitement, and creating a memory that will last a lifetime.

In the end, it’s the moments we create, the dreams we fulfill, and the smiles we bring to our loved ones that truly make life special. Right now, Saudi Arabia holds that promise of fulfilling a dream close to our hearts, and I can’t wait for the day we embark on this incredible journey.

Describe your dream kitchen; what does it look like? What does it have in it?

My dream kitchen is an industrial haven, a space where form and function blend seamlessly to create an atmosphere that inspires and delights. At the heart of this dream kitchen is a commanding, substantial island—a focal point that embodies the essence of my culinary sanctuary.

This island is not merely a practical work surface; it’s a statement piece, a place where I can prepare and present delectable dishes. Its design is bold and rugged, with raw materials and exposed structural elements that give it a unique, industrial edge. It’s a true masterpiece, the “wow” factor that leaves everyone who enters in awe.

But my dream kitchen is more than just aesthetics. It’s a space where memories are made, where my family gathers, where we share laughter and love. In the midst of the industrial allure, it’s essential to have the comforts of home, including a bounty of wine and an array of snacks to satisfy my two boys.

Wine racks line the walls, showcasing a collection that suits every palate, from deep reds to crisp whites, and there’s always a bottle ready to be uncorked for a special occasion or a quiet evening. And for my energetic boys, there’s an open pantry filled with their favorite snacks, neatly organized for easy access. Whether it’s a quick bite or a full family meal, this kitchen has it all.

In my dream kitchen, industrial chic meets the warmth of home. It’s a place where creativity and culinary exploration flourish, where gatherings are effortless and enjoyable, and where the combination of style and functionality results in a space that truly reflects who I am.

This kitchen isn’t just a room; it’s a manifestation of my passion for cooking, my love for my family, and my desire to create a space that combines the practical with the extraordinary. It’s a place where I can craft, create, and connect, a true dream kitchen.
