Employee Spotlight: Meet Moneque Edwards

Meet Moneque Edwards, our Philadelphia sales executive! Moneque has been with InterSolutions for over a month, but she is no stranger to the multifamily industry. She joined our team with over 12 years of experience and is well-known in the Philadelphia multifamily market for her top-tier customer service. As a working solutions expert, Moneque is the capstone winner of the National Apartment Association’s inaugural class of 2020, Diversity Leadership Program.

In her free time, Moneque volunteers on various committees with the Pennsylvania Apartment Association and enjoys trying new adventures and eating tacos with her husband, daughter, family, and friends. In order to get to know one of our newest Sales Execs, we decided to sit down with Moneque and delve a little deeper. Here’s what she had to say:

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I really enjoy the opportunity to introduce careers in property management, provide job opportunities, meet, and connect with dynamic professionals and assist client staffing needs.

What motivates you?

The support from my family, multifamily network, and constant prayer motivates me.

What are your top three tips for a productive workday?

  • Organization – Create systems for yourself by organizing your emails, utilizing your outlook calendar, and creating follow-up strategies that assist with sales efforts.
  • Time Management – Create a daily task list and allocate time for each task to get completed, and consider adopting the Pomodoro Technique
  • Planning – Plan out your week and discipline yourself to stick to the plan to ensure all mandatory job responsibilities are completed.

Do you have a long-term career goal? If so, what is it?

My long-term career goal is to evolve in my sales role and gain a leadership position within InterSolutions. I also want to continue to create an impact in the multifamily industry by educating and promoting careers in property management through affiliation with local and national apartment associations.

What advice would you give to someone who wants a role like yours?

Being a supplier in multifamily staffing is very rewarding. I’d recommend becoming an active member of the apartment association to assist with building a network, professional development, career advancement, and taking advantage of opportunities that are outside of your confront zone.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? Why?

I wanted to be a Disney actress. I watched shows like That’s So Raven, Hanna Montana, and other sitcoms such as Martin, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and Sister, Sister. I loved TV sitcoms growing up. My sisters and I would play out scenes in shows and have the best time.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

My superpower would be flying, it would be a fun and efficient way to visit properties.

If you had to eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

Korean Galbi with white rice, kimchi, and beans sprouts. My childhood best friend is Korean American. I would enjoy family dinners and learned a lot about Korean cuisine during my middle school and high school years.

Thank you, Moneque, for taking the time to share with us!
