Darian Trumbette is a Centralized Services Administrator and has been with InterSolutions for 5 years! She is a key player when it comes to reaching out to applicants and assisting employees with time submittal. I sat down with Darian to get an inside look at who she is, what inspires her, and even what her favorite ice cream flavor is. Get to know Darian on a more personal level!
What did you want to be when you were little?
A Fashion Designer, then a wedding dress designer, and then a shoe designer. No idea why. My Grandma still has the cutout of a dress I made her out of paper maché. I used to go around to my mom’s friends and family members and ask them to describe their favorite shoes. I would draw the shoes for them. I was just clueless *laughs*.
Going off of that, how did you come to join the InterSolutions team? How did you get your start?
I was working at a pizzeria and my mom’s lifelong friend Katrina said she works at this company that was hiring. I gave her my resume and started out assisting the Talent Acquisition Department at InterSolutions. I started with data entry and candidate outreach and worked my way up from there.
What was your experience prior to joining InterSolutions?
I had a few jobs prior to working in the pizzeria including Bath and Body Works, Dominoes, and working in a law office.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I’d hope to be in a managerial position, doing what for InterSolutions? I don’t know. I also want to own a cow. I want a farm type house but not a big farm, a couple more animals, maybe a couple of chickens.
So you’re an animal lover? If you were an animal which one would you want to be and why?
My favorite animal is a raccoon, I think that they’re amazing. I can’t give you any specific reasons I just think they’re adorable. I’d want to be a raccoon, but I’m definitely more like a cat. I like to think that I’m highly intelligent. I like to sleep a lot, I like snacks, I like attention when I want attention other times I like to be left alone and do my own thing. That doesn’t sound like a good personality at all *laughs*
Did you pick up any new hobbies during the pandemic?
I’ve definitely been trying to do a lot more. My boyfriend and I just moved into a house, so I’ve been trying to paint and pick-up interior design. Hmm what else, I Just started yoga like two days ago virtually. That’s been rough. So, I guess it’s not really considered a hobby, but I have spoken to my grandmother every day since quarantine started. Some days I think it’s a cool thing, other days… *laughs* She lives in Las Vegas, usually, we don’t talk this much but it has been going on a year strong!
What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?
It’s a Ben and Jerry’s. The Americone Dream. That’s my favorite. It’s vanilla ice cream, fudge-covered waffle cones, and caramel swirl.
If you could pick 3 guests dead or alive to have dinner with who would they be and why?
My grandmom, she passed I think two years ago now. I would have dinner with her, just to talk to her again. My grandfather, he passed as well. And my uncle Mike, he passed too. All three of them passed so I’d like to talk to them again.
What inspires you?
My boyfriend does. He’s a firefighter, he’s a volunteer right now but he’s on his way to becoming paid. That’s what he’s working towards. Ever since he was little, he knew what that he wanted to do and be in life. He’s taking classes and every fire he gets he tries to go to. He is a lieutenant at the Merchantville Fire Department. I’ve never seen someone have so much ambition at such a young age; besides certain celebrities and stuff *laughs*. For me personally, I’ve never seen someone have a dream to become a firefighter in that area.
What advice do you have for those looking to enter the industry?
Be patient and love what you do. I think that listening and genuinely caring about other people’s experiences can help solve problems and make the job rewarding. Be kind as it can help you advance in your career.
