Growing up Katie Grass always wanted to be a vet. That is until she realized she was too squeamish around blood and guts. So, how did our animal-loving staffing specialist find her way into the Multi-family Industry? As an Associate for InterSolutions in San Diego!
Katie started as a Leasing Consultant for one of our clients, and with an opening at the InterSolutions office, she was offered a job! She began assisting with administrative support before eventually getting promoted to Staffing Specialist taking the lead in our Sacramento, CA and Phoenix, AZ offices. As InterSolutions continues to expand into new markets, she is hoping to continue to grow and take on more responsibility. Katie has a BA in business entrepreneurship and a master’s in Property Management from AIU online in Chicago.
Katie has two kids that inspire her every day, a nine-year-old daughter and a 14-year-old son. Throughout the pandemic, Katie has played a lot more board games with her kids. She has also tried to pick up cooking even though her kids still refuse to eat her meals (she admits that she can’t cook). Luckily, Katie has perfected a few recipes, and her chicken manicotti has become a big crowd-pleaser. With a love for baking and making fun desserts, Katie enjoys having more time to experiment and go off recipes. Katie has a sweet tooth and a fun fact is that her favorite ice cream flavor is the Häagen-Dazs Rocky Road. (And it must be Häagen-Dazs because it has marshmallow cream instead of marshmallow pieces.)
If Katie could pick 3 people, dead or alive to invite to a dinner party, she would invite Bob Marley, Michelle Obama, and Nahko. Katie admires Bob Marley’s free spirit and One Love philosophy. Katie loves Michelle Obama’s feminist ideologies and the path she has paved for women. Nahko is a musician that Katie adores due to him being a visionary.
Katie also loves music and volunteering. Volunteering with her kids allows her to help those who are struggling. This is a boost for both her own life and those less fortunate.
If you are looking to enter the Multi-Family Staffing Industry, Katie’s advice is to do what you can to get your foot in the door. She believes that the industry has so much potential for one to advance their career and emphasizes the importance of networking connections, showing your reliability, and showing up as the best version of yourself every day.
