Three Examples of Questions to Ask in an Interview to Win Over the Crowd

Interviews allow a company to learn more about your abilities and professional skills, but they also give you the opportunity to learn more about the company. Ask your interviewer these three questions to see if the company is the right fit for you.

What is the company’s main goal for the year?

This is an important question because the answer will give insight into how your skills and abilities could assist the company in achieving their goals. For example, your strong communication skills and ability to work with team members could be beneficial in this goal. It also gives you information on the company’s vision for the future and if you want to join the team in accomplishing their goals and this overall vision.

What types of advancement opportunities are available with this position?

If you were to stay with this company long term, are there opportunities to advance? Are they able to elaborate on what those types of opportunities would be? These questions are crucial to see if you can develop as a worker and increase your professional experience if you accepted an offer in this position. You don’t want to feel stuck in this position or feel like there is no opportunity to grow.

What is your favorite part of working for this company?

This question may take the interviewer by surprise, but it’s a great question to ask to gain information from someone who has experienced working at the company firsthand. For example, they could express that they love the company culture. This is valuable information if you find company culture to be very important in your job hunt. If they have trouble answering the question, that could express that they don’t enjoy the company or their daily tasks.
